Seven Layer Dip

One of the biggest drawbacks to the next couple of months is that with all the parties and family get togethers we eat more than normal. It seems like everyone puts on a couple pounds over the holidays.

Here’s a great tasting low fat dip that people won’t realize is low fat.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 can (15 oz) black beans, rinsed, drained, and mashed
  • 1 teaspoon Watkins Cumin
  • 1 cup nonfat sour cream
  • 1/2 cup fat-free mayonnaise
  • 3 Tablespoon Watkins Salsa & Sour Cream Snack and Dip Seasoning
  • 1 cup shredded fat-free Cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup thinly sliced green onions
  • 1/4 cup sliced black olives
  • 1 cup chopped, seeded tomato
  • 1 can (4 oz) chopped green chiles, drained
  • Watkins Jalapeño Hot Pepper Sauce (to taste)

DIRECTIONS

  1. Combine the mashed beans and cumin and spread over the bottom of a 9-inch pie plate or other serving plate.
  2. In a small bowl, combine the sour cream, mayonnaise and seasoning.
  3. Spread mixture over the beans.
  4. Sprinkle with cheese, green onions, olives, tomato, and green chiles.
  5. Sprinkle to taste with jalapeño sauce.
  6. Chill until needed.
  7. Serve with tortilla chips.

Makes 12 Servings.
