Like a little spiciness in your meals? Here’s a nice variation for your burgers. The recipe is calls for grilling them but you can make them on the stove just as easily.
Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 pounds lean ground beef
- 2 ounces Pepper-Jack cheese, thinly sliced
- Salt and pepper
- 4 hamburger buns
- 4 lettuce leaves
- 4 slices tomato
Directions:
- Divide ground beef into 8 equal portions; shape each into 4-inch diameter patties.
- Place equal amount of cheese in center of 4 patties.
- Top with remaining 4 patties; press edges together to seal securely.
- Place patties on grill over medium coals.
- Grill 10 to 12 minutes to desired doneness, turning once.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Toast buns on grill for 1 minute, if desired.
- Arrange 1 lettuce leaf on each bun bottom; top each with 1 burger and 1 tomato slice.
- Cover with bun tops.
