Oven Rubbed Chicken Breasts

It’s 97 degrees out which in my mind is way to hot to be cooking outside on the grill. So what do you do when you want barbecued chicken but it’s to hot out to grill? Just make it in the oven instead. This rubbed chicken recipe can be cooked on a grill or just as easily made in your oven.

Ingredients
1 Tablespoon brown sugar (packed)
2 teaspoons smoked paprika
1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon chili powder
4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
1/2 cup barbecue sauce

Directions
Preheat oven to 350°F
In small bowl, mix brown sugar, paprika, cumin, garlic powder and chili powder.
Rub both sides of chicken with seasoning mixture.
Place chicken on a rack in cake pan
Bake 25 minutes until the inner temperature reaches 170°F. Juice of chicken will be clear when center of thickest part is cut.
In microwave, heat the barbecue sauce and serve on the side.
