Onion Bread in a breadmaker

For those of you that like to use your bread maker here is a really good recipe.

Onion Bread

Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup water
  • 2/3 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 tablespoon butter
  • 2 1/2 cups bread flour or flour
  • 1/3 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 1/2 tablespoon nonfat dry milk
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon yeast
  • 1/3 cup grated fresh onion

Directions:

  1. Add all ingredients at room temperature (70-80 degrees.)
  2. Press Stop to clear display.
  3. Press select until desired setting appears on the display.
  4. Press Start.
  5. When unit signals during the kneading cycle, add additional flour (1 tablespoon at a time) if the dough looks too wet.
  6. When the unit and the display reads 0.00, press Stop and remove bread.

I made this on Setting #2.

These are the directions for my bread maker, you may need to adjust them for your bread maker.
