Homemade Cornbread

The cold weather has arrived and with it comes the chili season.  I don’t mean chilly cold, I mean good hearty chili.  One thing we love to have with chili is cornbread.   While it’s easy to make cornbread from a box, here’s a recipe for homemade cornbread that we like much better.  Best of all, it’s easy to make.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 1/4 Cup flour
  • 3/4 Cup corn meal
  • 4 Tablespoons sugar
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 Cup milk

  2. Add milk, egg and butter.
  3. Beat well and bake in an 8 inch greased pan at 400 F for 30 – 40 minutes.
