A while back I found a recipe similar to this in a magazine but I’m not sure what ever happened to it. I’m sure you know what I mean. Find a recipe, cut it out, put it away somewhere to try later, and then you can’t find it. I know I’m not the only one that does that. Anyway, here’s a super easy chicken and dumplings recipe that your family is going to love.
Easy Chicken and Dumplings
Ingredients
- 1 package (32 oz) chicken broth
- 3 Cups shredded cooked chicken
- 1 (10 oz) Can cream of chicken soup
- 1/4 teaspoon poultry seasoning
- 1 (10.2 oz) tube Jumbo Buttermilk Biscuits
- 2 diced carrots
- 2 diced celery sticks
Directions
- Put the broth, chicken, soup and poultry seasoning in a large Dutch Oven and bring to a boil.
- Cover and reduce heat to low.
- Simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Increase heat to medium and bring to a low boil,
- Place biscuits on a lightly floured surface and roll or pat to 1/8 inch thickness.
- Cut biscuits into 1/2 wide strips.
- Drop the biscuit strips, 1 at a time into the boiling broth.
- Add carrots and celery.
- Cover and reduce heat to low.
- Simmer for 15 to 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
