If you are looking for wonderful flavor and fork-tender meat, this recipe is for you. Cooking in the slowcooker is a great way to tenderize the meat and achieve those wonderful flavors, but this dish may also be done in the oven at 350 degees for 1 hour or until the meat is tender. When cooking in the oven you may have to add some water to keep it from drying out.
1 1/2 pounds round steak
2 tablespoon flour
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon Watkins Pepper
2 tablespoon oil
3 large onions, sliced
3/4 cup hot water
1 tablespoon vinegar
2 teaspoon Watkins Beef Soup and Gravy Mix
Cut meat in cubes. Combine flour, salt and pepper; coat meat with mixture. In a skillet quickly brown meat on all sides in hot oil. Drain fat. Transfer meat to slow cooker, add onions. In same skillet combine HOT water, vinegar and beef soup and gravy mix. Stir together scraping brown bits from skillet; pour all into slow cooker. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours. Pour over rice, noodles or mashed potatoes.
