Sorry I didn’t post yesterday but the 2008 Watkins catalogs are in and I was kind of busy.
If you’ve got a busy day coming up, try this delicious crockpot beef.
Ingredients:
- 2 pounds stew beef
- 1 envelope (1 1/2 oz) Sloppy Joe mix
- 1 can tomato paste
- 1 cup coarsely sliced celery
- 2 tablespoon vinegar
- shortening
- flour
- salt and pepper
Directions:
- Mix flour salt and pepper together.
- Dredge the beef in the flour and then brown in shortening in skillet.
- Place all ingredients in slow cooker, stir to mix.
- Cover and cook 10 hours on low or 4 1/2 to 5 hours on high.
Serve with rice
This dish can also be prepared in the oven: just cook it in a covered 2 quart dish for 2 to 2 1/2 hours in a 325 degree oven.
