Chocolate Snowballs

Can you believe Christmas is less than 2 weeks away?  I’ve been watching the weather in Northern Michigan and it looks terrible.  I’m glad we moved when we did, but I still think about all our friends and family up there.  With the amount of snow they are getting, I thought I’d honor them with Chocolate Snowballs.

Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup butter or margarine, softened
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 t Watkins Vanilla
  • 2 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup Watkins Cocoa
  • 1 t Watkins baking powder
  • 1/2 t salt
  • 1/4 t baking soda
  • Confectioners’ sugar

Directions:

  1. In a mixing bowl, cream butter and brown sugar.
  2. Add egg, milk and vanilla; mix well.
  3. Combine flour, cocoa, baking powder, salt and baking soda; gradually add to creamed mixture.
  4. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
  5. Shape into 1-inch balls; place 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheets.
  6. Bake at 350 degrees for 7-8 minutes or until tops are crackled.
  7. Remove from baking sheets; immediately roll in confectioners’ sugar.
  8. Cool completely. Roll  again in confectioners’ sugar.

Makes 6 dozen.

Enjoy!
