Ingredients:
1 package (18 1/4 oz) chocolate cake mix
2 eggs
1 teaspoon Watkins Almond Extract
1 can (21 oz) cherry pie filling
1 cup chocolate chips, optional
Directions:
In a bowl, combine the cake mix, eggs and extract. Add pie filling and chocolate chips; mix well.
Spread into a greased 9 x 13 inch baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean.
Chocolate Glaze
Ingredients:
2 tablespoon butter or margarine
2 tablespoon cocoa
1/2 teaspoon Watkins Vanilla
2 tablespoon water
1 cup confectioners’ (powdered) sugar
Directions:
In a small saucepan, melt butter over low heat. Add cocoa and water, stirring constantly until mixture thickens. Do not boil. Remove from heat and cool slightly. Blend in confectioner’s sugar and vanilla. Spread over cake.
For a thicker icing-type topping, cool butter/cocoa mixture combpletely before adding sugar and vanilla.
