Cherry Crescents

Here’s another of my favorite Christmas cookie recipes.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup confectioners’ sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chopped maraschino cherries
  • 1 tablespoon Watkins Clear Vanilla
  • 2 cup flour

DIRECTIONS

  1. Cream butter.
  2. Gradually add sugar; continue creaming until light and fluffy.
  3. Add cherries and vanilla.
  4. Blend in flour gradually; mix thoroughly.
  5. Shape into crescents, using a teaspoon for each crescent.
  6. Chill for a couple hours. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT TO DO.
  7. Bake in a 325 degree oven on an ungreased sheet for 15 to 20 minutes.
  8. Cool slightly.
  9. Make a glaze of maraschino cherry syrup and confectioners’ sugar.
  10. Drip glaze over each crescent.

Makes about 4 1/2 dozen.
