I’m always on the lookout for a new recipe for my slow cooker. When I found this Beef Barbecue recipe I knew it was going to be a keeper. You’re going to love how easy it is, and how great it tastes. One of the things I really like about it is that you prepare it, let it cook all day, and then finish it off while you are putting together the rest of the meal.

Ingredients
3	pounds beef boneless chuck roast
1	cup barbecue sauce
1/2	cup peach or apricot preserves
1/3	cup chopped green bell pepper
1	tablespoon Dijon mustard
2	teaspoons packed brown sugar
1	small onion, sliced
12	kaiser or hamburger buns, split

Directions:

Trim excess fat from beef. Cut beef into 4 pieces. Place beef in 4- to 5-quart slow cooker.

Mix remaining ingredients except buns; pour over beef.

Cover and cook on low heat setting 7 to 8 hours or until beef is tender.

Remove beef to cutting board. Cut into thin slices; return to cooker.

Cover and cook on low heat setting 20 to 30 minutes longer or until beef is hot.

Fill buns with beef mixture.

Hi all, long time no write. Been a little hectic around here but things are getting back to normal.

I came across this really easy swedish meatball recipe today and thought I would share it with you. Now I just got it today so I haven’t tried it yet but it sure sounds good to me.

Put a 5 pound bag of frozen meatballs in your crrock pot.

Put in 16 oz of Chip Dip, Sour cream and onion, veggie or dill.

Optionally, you can cut up a medium onion and add it to the top of mixture

Salt and Pepper it.

Turn crock pot on medium.

Come back 6 hours later and you are ready to eat.

I’d serve this over noodle, stroganoff style.

Rememer, I haven’t tried this yet but it sounds good. I’d watch the cooking time on it also, just in case it takes longer than 6 hours.

Have a great day all.
6. Put lid on crock pot and head off to work. When you get home the house smells great, dinner is ready!

Cold, damp and rainy. Perfect weather for making a batch of chili. We eat a lot of chili in the fall and winter.

Here’s one of my favorite ways to do it. I use a slow cooker so I can just put it on and let it cook. I do have to check it once, at the three hour point, when I turn it down. I hope you enjoy it.

INGREDIENTS

1 pound Hamburger

2 cups chopped Onion

1 can (8 oz.) Tomato Sauce

1 can (14.5 oz.) Black Beans, drained and rinsed

2 can (14.5 oz.) Mild Chili Beans, do not drain

1 can (28 oz.) Diced Tomatoes

3 T Watkins Chili Powder (01928)

1 T garlic, finely chopped

1 t Watkins Cumin (00592)

1 t Salt

1 t Watkins Dry Mustard (01936)

1 cup water

2 cups cooked Elbow Macaroni

DIRECTIONS

Brown the hamburger and chopped onion in a skillet and pour into crockpot.

Add the tomato sauce, black beans, chili beans, chili powder, garlic, cumin, salt, and dry mustard.

Set on high for 3 to 4 hours

Add 1 cup of water and turn to warm/serve. Taste and add more spices if necessary.

Cook the elbow macaroni on the stove and mix in with the chili.

Serve with some shredded cheese and a dollop of sour cream.

You can also make this by cooking on low for 8 to 10 hours. Perfect if you are going go to be out of the house all day.

It’s a cloudy rainy day here in Versailles, and we’re happy because we really need the rain. Hope it’s a great day where you are.
